StoriesIn the app: /app/dpa-archiv

The dpa-AFX archive, searchable — right inside the newsroom.

With your own dpa-AFX access, StoryFab brings in every story, classifies it and enriches it with companies and markets. Searching, filtering and further processing happen in one place.

What you can do with it

  • Once the module is licensed, store your organisation’s dpa-AFX credentials and test the connection. From then on the import runs by itself every 15 minutes.
  • Search the archive in full text and across 16 facets, such as format, sector, topic, region, company and market. Every facet can be included or excluded.
  • Filter and sort by news value and by how confident the classification is.
  • Read each story with its companies, logo, markets and tags, expand the full text and open the original in one click.
  • Keep using links from the previous dpa tool: the address format is the same.
  • Process the stories further in the news stream, and let the daily scheduled formats turn into articles automatically.

The thinking behind it

For a financial newsroom, dpa-AFX is the most important source, but its archive is a website for reading, not for working. Until now that took a separate tool next to the newsroom. Now every story comes straight in, is broken down, classified and enriched with company and market data.

Anyone who knew the old tool should not have to relearn anything: search, facets and even the addresses work the way they did there.

Because every story gets a fixed class, daily scheduled format or free-standing news, the pipeline knows what becomes a format automatically and what continues as news.

The most important source belongs where the work happens.

Improvements

  1. Follow-ups are grouped in the stream

Flash, ROUNDUP and repeats on a dpa story file in under the first story in the news stream.

  2. A fixed class for every story

Every dpa story is either one of 18 daily scheduled formats or free-standing news. The class is read from the start of the headline; prefixes such as ROUNDUP, WDH or Flash are ignored.

  3. dpa stories join the news stream

Every imported story also appears in the news stream and takes the lead when the same story comes from other sources. Free-standing news can run through facts, research and rewriting in auto mode.

  4. Search and facets as in the previous tool

Every story from 1 October 2026 on, enriched with companies, logos and markets, searchable across 16 facets. The addresses are the same as in the previous dpa tool, so old links keep working.

  5. The archive moves into the newsroom

Licensed organisations store their dpa-AFX credentials; the password is kept encrypted. The import fetches the stories, breaks them down and classifies them with Jev. Plus a menu item of its own under Stories.
