The dpa wire lands, and the market report is already there.

Nineteen market reports can write themselves every trading day: as soon as dpa-AFX sends the matching wire, a draft with prices, tables and widget slots is waiting in the workbench. All you set is the time window to watch.

What you can do with it

  • Switch nineteen formats on and off one by one, from DAX pre-market, market morning and the DAX daily review through currencies and oil to US pre-market and Closing Bell.
  • Set a watch window per format: only then does the automation look for the wire that triggers it.
  • Create a draft by hand right away, along exactly the same path as the automation. As an admin, also for a past day, with that day's prices and triggering wire.
  • See what a draft was built from: prompts, the model's raw response, the triggering dpa-AFX wire and all other input data of the format.
  • Delete a draft that went wrong; the automation then rebuilds the day.
  • Maintain each format's article type, author and tone in editorial rules. The draft then goes through workbench and approval like any other.

The thinking behind it

dpa does not publish to the minute. A report that starts at a fixed time sometimes still picks up yesterday's figures. So it is not the clock that triggers, but the wire itself. If it has not arrived by the end of the window, the system reports the miss instead of staying silent.

The model should not invent numbers. Prices come through data blocks or from the price data for the exact date, individual stocks with WKN and ISIN from the linked instruments. The model is there to write, not to calculate.

All formats share one engine: trading calendar, watch window, grace period, dpa archive. A rule is written once and applies to all nineteen.

It is the wire that triggers the report, not the clock.

Improvements

  1. Test run for a past day

Admins pick a day up to yesterday and create the draft as it would have come out that day: with that day's closing prices and triggering wire. That way you can check a format without waiting for the next morning.

  2. Provenance for every format

A draft's detail view only showed the input data of the DAX pre-market report. Now it names the triggering dpa-AFX wire and all other data the text was built from, for every format.

  3. One US pre-market report instead of two

Two similar US formats have been merged into one: with the IG indications as material and with tables and widgets like the DAX pre-market report.

  4. 16 formats from dpa wires

From Asia-Pacific equities through currencies and oil to Closing Bell: each format triggers on its dpa wire class and starts switched off. Flash formats recognise real dpa flashes, article formats no longer trigger on a flash.

  5. In the processes window

Every format run shows up in the processes window, and one click takes you straight to the right tab.

  6. Triggers from the dpa archive

The formats find their wire in the dpa archive, five to ten minutes earlier than before, and pick up analyst rating changes there too. The previous routes remain as a fallback.

  7. Misses are reported

If a format finds no wire by the end of its window, a warning appears in the log instead of a silent miss. The search no longer depends on a category that not every wire carries.

  8. 30-minute grace period

Wires that appear just before the window closes and arrive late are caught by a grace period after the window.

  9. Pre-market only once X-DAX trades

The window opens at 8:00, and the prompt checks the timestamp. Before, individual runs quoted the previous day's close as the indication.

  10. Market morning and DAX daily review

Market morning names individual stocks with WKN and ISIN, the daily review works with closing prices for the exact date and the day's material.

  11. DAX pre-market as the first format

Triggered by the dpa wire rather than a fixed time, with an adjustable watch window, tables and widget slots. Drafts that went wrong can be deleted and are rebuilt.
