When executives buy their own shares, it is in a draft by the next morning.
Reportable own-account transactions under Article 19 MAR — captured, broken up, written up and shipped through the same workbench.
What you can do with it
- Define sources: method, response format and the path at which a response is broken into individual filings — with a template for the common dealings interface.
- Run auto mode and keep an eye on processed, open and failed.
- Review processed filings: company, ISIN, ticker, date, people, number of transactions, buys and sales.
- Turn a filing into a draft that lands in the same workbench.
- Fetch the results through the external interface, including the generated text.
The thinking behind it
Directors' dealings are a model case for what the newsroom is good at: a structured mandatory disclosure nobody enjoys writing up by hand, but from which a short, faithful text can reliably be made.
The same principle applies here: own trigger, same outcome. The generated text is a draft like any other and takes the same approval route.
Improvements
Classed as a feed into the workbench
Directors' dealings create drafts in the same collection as the news stream. The workbench now shows the type and can filter by it.
Sources, auto mode and delivery
Its own source management with parsing rules, an auto mode for ongoing processing, and an endpoint in the external interface.
