One alias per key, one model per AI step.
You store API credentials encrypted in one place, each under a name such as @deepseek_pro. For every AI process, from news to earnings research, you decide which credential and which model does the work.
What you can do with it
- Create credentials as an alias, with type, provider, model and reasoning level. The key is stored encrypted and only ever shown masked.
- Use the alias instead of the key, in the process assignment as well as in endpoint parameters and headers.
- Choose credential and model per process: news, tone, images, image review, fact check, AI research, earnings research, editorial, analyses.
- Assign credentials with web search specifically to fact check and research.
- Configure classification: the model, and whether dpa and RSS stories are additionally classified by a specialist model, with a cost note.
- See which profile currently applies and make it active with one click.
- Jump from the workbench straight into a prefilled form when the fact check still lacks a credential.
The thinking behind it
Keys do not belong in prompts, endpoints or configurations that get copied. Only the alias goes there. The key is swapped in one place, and everything that names the alias follows.
Not every step needs the strongest model. Classifying each story can be cheap; earnings research needs a model that searches and answers in a structured way. Assigning per process makes that trade-off visible and changeable.
Nobody should run up costs by accident. That is why the extra classification switch says that it costs money.
Improvements
A dedicated assignment for earnings research
Earnings research gets its own credential and model and returns the consensus in a structured form rather than as running text.
Classification is configurable
The classification model can be chosen, plus two switches for additionally classifying dpa and RSS stories with a specialist model.
Credentials stay with the admin
With the new manager role, the credentials page and the process assignment remain reserved for admins.
Process assignment
Credential and model per process and profile, aliases with model and reasoning level, fact check and AI research as credentials with web search.
Credentials as aliases
API keys with a name and type, stored encrypted.
